Question about Shiro (spoilerish)
Ok, I don't think much of the Factions story anyway (personal opinion, nothing more.. don't nitpick on that please) but one part kinda bugged me... how on earth did Shiro become an Envoy? More importantly why??
The guy murdered the emperor for crying out loud! Not to mention everyone else there, and screwed up Cantha with his death wail. The "powers that be" seem to think that it's perfectly fine and dandy to make an Envoy out of a murdering nutcase like that? "You there, you will be tasked the great priveledge of shepherding the newly dead to their resting place!" murderers, thieves and other lowlife most welcome to apply for this job. I mean seriously, wtf?

I'm pretty sure becoming an Envoy is a punishment. Their job is to escort the dead to paradise, they don't actually get to go to paradise. Sure, they're very powerful, but notice that the other Envoys say that he is "shirking his responsibilities" or something like that. And all those other envoys don't exactly look like nice people. It's a punishment, to escort all of the dead, but never actually have any rest. At least, that's the impression I got. Now, I don't know why they don't all just try to take over the world if Shiro could do it, but then again, there could be restrictions that Shiro found a way around, who knows. Basically, I just got the impression that becoming an Envoy wasn't a pleasant thing. Now, the Underworld doesn't seem like paradise to me. But I could have sworn that was the word the Envoys used in Vizunah Square, so possibly another place.

HOWEVER, when he murdered the emperor, he did it out of fear. In the Factions Campaign, you see a fortune teller telling Shiro that the Emperor fears his great power, and will kill him at the harvest temple. The fortune teller also mentioned that she was never wrong, and someone came to tell her that her fortune came true before she gave Shiro his fortune. I suppose he became evil because he felt angry at the punishment of being an Envoy, so he became evil.
He was afraid, so he struck down the emperor and the four followers there, but was in turn, killed by Archemoris and Viktor, the Luxon and Kurzick heroes.

I think anyone who dies with emmense power becomes and envoy (bad), or goes to the HoH(good).

I still say the interesting questions are: who was the fortune teller who messed with Shiros head, and is it just a coincidence that one of the envoys look exactly like her?

Although... it coudl have been because he killed the Emporer and took all his soul energy's that he became an envoy...
But I like the punishment theory better.

Hmm the punishment idea might make a bit more sense, though still doesn't explain why he had so much power after death as well - ability to push other people around, subverting them to his will; living or dead. He ended up being able to kill someone living too. You'd think a suitable punishment would be to not have superpowers after death, and be the guy who guides everyone else to the GW equivalent of heaven/hell, without ever resting.
Ol' Hablion must be rubbing his hands in glee at the prospect of becoming an Envoy hehe

maybe being an envoy means celestialy "Your too tough to leave in the underworld or HoH, but your just too evil to be banished (i.e. Dhumm and Menzies) so we'll keep you busy till the end of time."
SO like the guy at work who just got fired he thinks "Man im still pretty mad about that whole being killed thing, i wish someone would get back at them for me."
he gets mad and his power crosses over, twisting someones soul slightly. after a few decades more of practice he sets his plan in motion. But the other Envoys wont help him because they know the gods will own the in the end, and they arnt as upset over their deaths.
